Building Materials (p.24) Wall materials in the district <br />478 range from brick, stucco, clapboard, shingles, aluminum and <br />479 vinyl siding. <br />480 Required (p.24) <br />481 Exterior materials used on a new structure shall be compatible in scale, <br />482 and texture with adjacent structures. <br />483 Materials used on an addition to an existing structure shall relate to the <br />484 existing or original materials of that structure. <br />485 Also, as much of the original structure as possible shall be retained so <br />486 that the addition could be removed without damage to the basic <br />487 structure and appearance of the building. <br />488 Recommended (p.24) <br />489 Alternate or composite siding may be used when it is the only feasible <br />490 alternative. <br />491 This siding should be compatible with the original size and style and <br />492 with the materials of other buildings in the district. <br />493 Prohibited (p.24) <br />494 Inappropriate materials such as asbestos, asphalt, cast stone, or <br />495 artificial brick shall not be used. <br />496 Not Recommended (p.24) <br />497 It is recommended that glass blocks not be used. <br />498 It is recommended that concrete block not be used for anything other <br />• 499 than foundations. <br />19 <br />
