192 Recommended (p.14) <br />193 It is recommended that the current or historic character of lawns be <br />194 preserved. Front yard areas, trees, and lawns should remain open. <br />195 When replacement of utility poles or power supply lines is necessary, <br />196 consideration should be given to underground conduits or utility poles <br />197 erected along rear property lines. <br />198 It is recommended that new or replacement trees be compatible in <br />199 variety with those presently growing. <br />200 It is recommended that vacant lots be kept landscaped appropriately <br />201 while vacant, and may be used for recreational or residential <br />202 development. <br />203 Prohibited (p.14) <br />204 Existing relationships of buildings and their environments shall not be <br />205 destroyed through widening of existing streets, application of asphalt or <br />206 other bituminous coverings, or by introduction of new streets or parking <br />207 lots. <br />208 Signs, streetlights, benches, new plant materials, fencing, walkways, <br />209 and paving materials which are out of scale or inappropriate to the <br />210 neighborhood may not be used in public areas of the district. <br />211 The erection of high walls or barriers, which would alter the relationship <br />212 of the houses, shall be prohibited. <br />213 Utility poles with high intensity overhead lights shall not be used on <br />214 main thoroughfares. <br />
