CALLED MEETING TO ORDER <br />A. CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATENESS <br />1. 2005-0228 Gate at North Pumping Station <br />LYNN PATRICK: Called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. <br />CATHERINE HOSTETLER: (See staff report and pictures attached to C of A). John <br />Oxian, a consultant for the South Bend Water Works, gave a brief presentation about the <br />control gate that is to be installed at the North Pumping Station. <br />MARTHA CHOITZ: I move that application 2005-0228 be recommended for approval <br />with the following staff recommendation that any wiring or protective bollards not impact <br />the structure and the exterior masonry. <br />GERALD UJDAK: Seconds the motion and it passes. John Oxian abstains. <br />B. LANDMARK <br />1. 68286 Miami <br />Catherine Hostetler read a letter that was sent by the Roeder's attorney, Mr. Philip Hesch. <br />No further action was taken on this matter. (See white copy of attorney's letter in <br />meeting packet). <br />III. REGULAR BUSINESS <br />A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES — (February 28, 2005) <br />MARTHA CHOITZ: I move that the minutes for February 28, 2005, be approved. <br />GERALD UJDAK: Seconds the motion and it passes. John Oxian abstains. <br />B. TREASURER'S REPORT <br />(See yellow copy of treasurer's report in meeting packet). John Oxian stated if there <br />were any questions regarding the treasure's report, they could either call him or present <br />them at the next monthly meeting. <br />C. COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />1. President's Report — (none to report at this time) <br />2. Southhold Awards Committee <br />Catherine Hostetler stated that they have sent out over 800 save -the -date cards and have <br />selected a speaker for the event. The speaker will be William Tippens from Synthesis <br />Architecture and Design. He will be speaking about adaptive reuse of historic structures. <br />He is from Chicago and has won numerous awards in historic preservation circles for his <br />work with the Arcade in Cleveland, Ohio. He also has a South Bend connection; his <br />wife's family is from the South Bend area. He also serves on the South Shore Board with <br />
