JOSEPH COUNTY <br />MONTHLY MEETING <br />MINUTES <br />October 18, 2004 0 Floor, Council Chambers, <br />County -City Building, South Bend, IN <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Martha Choitz, Mary Jane Chase, Gerald Ujdak, <br />John Oxian, Lynn Patrick, Joann Sporleder, Diane <br />Wrobel-Illes <br />STAFF PRESENT: Catherine Hostetler, Director <br />Julie Schutte, Assistant Director <br />John Livingston, City Attorney <br />ALSO PRESENT: Kolin Hodgson, Todd Zeiger, (HLFI Director), <br />Nora Geissler, Liz Dube, Theresa Sedlack, <br />Geoff Newman, Rev. Tab Roehrs, David Mirkin, <br />Susan Fezy, Daniel Slattery, Veronnica Towne, <br />(others also attended the meeting who did not <br />speak, see attached sign -in sheet) <br />I. CALLED MEETING TO ORDER <br />JOHN OXIAN: Called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. <br />11. PUBLIC HEARING <br />A. CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATENESS <br />1. 2004-0929; 521 South St. Joseph-Dismas House; yard light <br />JULIE SCHUTTE: (See staff report attached to C of A). Homeowners were not <br />present. <br />Joann asked if a designated spot had already been picked for the yard light; Julie stated <br />that it would be installed near the walkway going up to the residence. <br />JOANN SPORLEDER: I move that application 2004-0929, the St. Joseph-Dismas <br />house, that placement of a yard light be approved as presented by staff. <br />MARY JANE CHASE: Seconds the motion and it passes unanimously. <br />2. 2004-1013; 316 East South Street; garage <br />CATHERINE HOSTETLER: (See staff report attached to C of A). Homeowner, <br />Gilbert Michelle, was present with his contractor. His contractor brought in a sample of <br />the siding they propose to use on said garage. <br />John Oxian asked if they propose to install the same type of siding that is already on the <br />garage now; and what type of garage door they plan to install on the garage. <br />The homeowner stated that he was looking at using either vinyl or hardi-board siding. <br />His contractor stated that the hardi-board siding would come close to matching the siding <br />that is already on the house now. The homeowner also stated that he is planning on using <br />just one single garage door. <br />JOANN SPORLEDER: On application 2004-1013, 316 E. South Street, staff <br />recommends approval of application and we would confirm that with the added notion <br />that the siding selected in width should match that of the existing house as close as <br />possible. <br />GERALD UJDAK: Seconds the motion and it passes unanimously. <br />
