OLD BUSINESS <br />7 Lynn Patrick informed the commission about a brief conversation she had with the city forester <br />8 prior to the meeting about the limbing up of the trees in Leeper Park. She also stated that she <br />9 would further research this matter with the city forester and report back to the commission as to <br />10 what his definite plans are for limbing up the trees in Leeper Park. <br />11 <br />12 Karen Hammond -Nash reported that the owner of 1069 Riverside Drive e-mailed the <br />13 commission an appeal regarding his C of A application. The matter was placed into the <br />14 Standards and Maintenance Committee <br />15 <br />16 V. NEW BUSINESS <br />17 1. CITY YARD LAMP PROGRAM (A) Karen Hammond -Nash stated that <br />18 several members of various neighborhood associations have called the office with questions <br />19 regarding the commission's policy on the city's new yard light program. <br />20 The commission recommended that Toy Villa be invited to attend the commission's <br />21 September meeting regarding the light posts and historic districts. <br />22 <br />23 (B) Karen also brought forward the recommendations of members of the West North <br />24 Shore Drive neighborhood associations to add additional streetlights (Octagonal Poles and Junior <br />25 Lanterns) in their district. <br />26 <br />27 (2) EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS On motion by LYNN PATRICK, seconded <br />28 by acclamation, the commission adopted a policy under the suggestion of the president that HPC <br />29 will support all programs presented by HLFI in conjunction with Mr. Yapp. <br />30 <br />31 VI. ANNOUNCEMENTS & MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS <br />32 1. West Washington National Register Historic District tour September 19. <br />33 <br />34 2. HLFI presentation of vinyl siding documentary film Blue Vinyl, <br />35 September 8, at 6:30 at the Northern Indiana Center for History. <br />36 <br />37 3. Joann Sporleder will attend a conference in Annapolis on historic <br />38 mortars and will present a report to the commission. <br />39 <br />40 VII.
