0 4k <br />INDIANA DIVISION OF <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />AND ARCHAEOLOGY <br />The Tenth Annual <br />Grassroots Preservation Roundup <br />IDEA EXCHANGE <br />Sponsored by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, <br />Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology (DHPA) <br />Hosted by the Irvington Historical Society and Bona Thompson Memorial Center <br />Why? <br />The "Grassroots Preservation Roundup IDEA EXCHANGE" was created to allow local <br />preservation organizations the opportunity to: <br />➢ Meet DHPA staff and learn about state programs and opportunities for historic preservation; <br />➢ Network with individuals from other local organizations in an informal setting; <br />➢ Discuss common preservation problems and explore possible solutions; <br />➢ Share stories of local preservation accomplishments, challenges, and on-going projects; <br />➢ See preservation highlights of the host community. <br />When and Where? <br />Saturday, October 23, 2004 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Irvington neighborhood of <br />Indianapolis, at the Bona Thompson Memorial Center. (Once you RSVP, we'll send you an <br />agenda, map and parking instructions.) <br />What do you need to do? <br />RSVP to Susan Fletcher, Malia Savarino, or Steve Kennedy in the DHPA Grants Section no <br />later than Monday, October 18, 2004. Please bring the ideas, stories, and <br />experiences that you have had in your respective cities, towns, and neighborhoods. In addition, <br />we ask that you bring information about your organization (flyers, brochures, etc.) that can be. <br />distributed to your colleagues from other communities around the state. <br />What should you wear? <br />Dress comfortably — this is an informal gathering of friends from the field of preservation. Be <br />prepared for cool fall weather and wear comfortable walking shoes for the afternoon tour. <br />
