/ Grassroots Preservation Roundup ®: <br />HWD R C PREs�ERv o <br />ON TENTATIVE SCHEDULE ' .h <br />AND ARCHAEOLOGY . <br />Saturday, October 23, 2004 . <br />Remember ... finalized information, driving directions, location maps, parking <br />instructions, and agendas will be sent to you after you RSVP, so be sure to give us your <br />address and phone number when you call! <br />10:00 to 10:45 Welcome and Introduction <br />DHPA Director Jon Smith and other DHPA staff will provide information on <br />pertinent programs offered through the DHPA that can benefit individuals and <br />local preservation organizations. Steve Barnett- will introduce us to the <br />Irvington Historical Society and Bona Thompson Memorial Center. <br />10:45 to 12:15 Presentations from Preservation Organizations <br />Representatives from participating organizations may give brief presentations <br />about their group and can talk about local projects or preservation challenges. <br />Because a number of groups will be represented, we must limit speakers to <br />one person from each organization, with 5 minutes maximum per speaker. <br />12:15 to 1:15 Lunch <br />Enjoy lunch and network with your fellow Roundup participants. <br />1:15 to 3:15 Local Tour of Preservation Highlights <br />There will be two walking tour options, 'which will highlight various <br />preservation efforts in Indiana. Current plans include: <br />• A walking tour of historic Irvington, one of Indianapolis' early- twentieth <br />century suburbs. <br />• A bus tour of the Kessler -designed Indianapolis Park and Boulevard <br />System, with a stop at Garfield Park.
