South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - March 21, 1997
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
d. continued....
year battle with Wilson and have been
holding retainage from Wilson, that H.S.
Altman has a claim against, as a
subcontractor to Wilson. H.S. Altman
was never paid the balance for the work
that was completed by them, as a
subcontractor to Wilson.
Ms. Kolata noted that once the irrigation
system is fixed and operational, it will be
the responsibility of the Owner's
Association to maintain it.
Mr. Hunt noted that he is concerned with
H.S. Altman. He feels that if H.S. Altman
didn't advise the Commission as to proper
installation of the tracer wire, for metal
detecting purposes, they should be
responsible for any damages done to the
sprinkler system. Ms. Kolata noted that
the City hired Wilson's and Wilson's hired
H.S. Altman. Ms. Bruneel noted that she
was uncertain if H.S. Altman had
obligations to register their underground
facilities. Ms. Kolata noted that H.S.
Altman may have done that but may not
have been accurate, or the utility
companies may have ignored it.
Mr. Donoho asked how many breaks are
in the pipelines. Ms. Kolata noted that
they were not sure. Mr. Donoho asked
how many areas were installed. Ms.
Kolata noted that both sides of Nimtz
Parkway were landscaped, from
Mayflower to the bypass.
JAPN
H:\ HOME \CPHMPS \WPDATA \COMMSN\032197.MIN -13-
