T
NME
IIID 'i111111111111111111
)ry L plan cottage with side porch. Many original
can be found intact on this house. The proportions
house are quite balanced and made more interest -
h the addition of the side porch.
• Triple double hung wood windows (three
vertical panes over one pane) and wood
storm windows!!!
• Clapboard siding with cornice board
• Louver
• Open porch with square porch piers
Steeper pitched cross gable house with a side porch. The
porch posts are thinner and are probably replacements. This
photo also shows a house with many intact features includ-
ing:
• Clapboard siding with cornice board
• Three double hung windows with three
vertical lights over one light
• Double hung window under the gable
• Storm windows
• Wood window trim
This gable front house now lacks its original character
compared to the houses above. The installation of alumi-
num siding required the removal of the window trim and
the cornice board, but left an uninteresting striped texture.
The new double hung window gives the house a blank ex-
pression. This house no longer has the window moldings,
windows; louver, and cornice trim that give the other
houses more street appeal, value, and historic character.
- Page 3 -
