t,
LAURA MALLOZZI: I haven't decided yet. I spoke with Karen earlier today and she
gave me some good ideas. I think I am going to try and find a storm door that matches or
is similar to the front door I have now. I picked a chain link fence because we have a
large black Labrador dog, and I think that a chain link fence would provide the best
enclosure for him in the backyard.
JOHN OXIAN: I know this isn't on the agenda, but are you going repair your garage?
LAURA MALLOZZI: I am not sure what to do with my garage yet. I had someone
come out to repair the garage door, and they did, and it worked for a short while, and then
it stopped working again. I would actually like to tear the garage down and rebuild new.
The cement slab floor inside the garage is cracked and is falling apart. I'm not sure if the
garage floor could be repaired if the garage structure was still intact.
JOHN OXIAN: Wayne, as an inspector, why don't you go out and look at the garage and
give her an opinion? I wouldn't recommend tearing it down because it is original.
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: I move that we accept application 2004 -0123 as
recommended by staff; with the exception that the back yard fence be a galvanized steel
chain link fence with steel posts. The storm door will be an open storm door as described
by Ms. Mallozzi.
GERALD UJDAK: Seconds the motion and it passes unanimously.
3. 2004 -0131; 1322 East Wayne Street North; remove aluminum
storm windows and original wood windows, replace with Pella
windows.
KAREN HAMMOND -NASH: (See staff report attached to C of A). The homeowner,
Robert Wolosin, and his contractor, Gary Derbin, from Derbin Riverside Construction
Company, are present.
ROBERT WOLOSIN: We have asked Mr. Derbin to replace our downstairs double -
hung windows with new Pella windows. We did the same thing upstairs in our bedroom
last August. We received approval to replace the windows, and now we would like
approval to replace these windows as well.
JOHN OXIAN: How many of the original windows besides the bay will remain?
ROBERT WOLOSIN: None, we want to replace all of them.
LYNN PATRICK: Have you tried to repair any of the original windows?
GARY DERBIN: I did not repair the original windows. I threw them away when we
replaced them with Pella's. The new windows that we plan to install will closely
resemble the original windows and we will remove the aluminum storm windows.
JOHN OXIAN: Is there trim around the windows?
2
