I.) Staff recommends approval of the same wood storm door as explained in recommendation
J.) The original box -in gutter system was covered by a modification to the roof. The lack of gutters
and downspouts has most likely caused water damage to the "soft" foundation and basement of
this house. SBH proposes to install 6" half round galvanized gutters to the main roof only to solve
the moisture and drainage problem. Downspouts will be located on the northwest, southwest, and
southeast corners of the house. Though not appropriate to the Italianate style of the house, the half
round gutters will decrease moisture damage to the residence's structural system. Staff
recommends approval of the installation of 6" half round gutters as described in the
specifications.
K.) The re -grade and addition of fill will not remove any historically significant landscape feature. It
will aid the drainage of water away from the house and its foundations. Staff recommends
approval of the addition of fill to and the re -grade of the property.
3
