If the above activities have not commenced by December 1, 2003, then the City
will move forward with the process necessary to demolish Building 46s and 47. In
their current condition the buildings are a blight on the area and will continue to
cast a shadow on the new development at the Oliver Site if not addressed.
6. The City has agreed to provide to the HPOCA a dollar sum that is equivalent to
our budgetary estimate for demolition of Buildings 46 and 47. That figure is
$150,000 and it would be available as gap financing for the museum capital
project at Buildings 46 and 47, but not as seed money to begin the work.
I look forward to your response and further discussion as this project moves along. I also
expect to hear from you regarding the status of your organization's efforts following the National
Winter Get - Together on March 28 -29.
Sincerely,
Andy Laurent
Economic Development Specialist
Cc:
John Oxian
Todd Zeiger
