Ms. Schwartz noted that for <br />this reason it would be appropriate to <br />lower the purchase price to $70,000. <br />She asked Mr. Harrison and Mr. Gould if <br />the Commission was to make a motion to <br />sell the proposed site for $70,000 as is, <br />with no tax abatement and subject to any <br />site work and environmental work being <br />the responsibility of the developer, would <br />either of them consider moving forward <br />with their project. <br />Mrs. Kolata asked if the Commission <br />were to make a motion to lower the <br />purchase price from $253,075 to $70,000 <br />and sell the property as is, would the <br />developer be given a period of time to <br />construct a second building on the site. <br />Ms. Schwartz noted that the developer <br />could be given three years, from the date <br />of the General Services Administration's <br />approval, to construct a second building. <br />She noted that this is a good location and <br />a good project and that this puts both <br />developers on an even playing field. <br />She explained that from the Commission's <br />standpoint it would be difficult to give <br />approval to either of the two developers <br />with two different type of proposals but <br />she would be prepared to put her <br />recommendation into the form of a <br />motion. <br />Ms. Kolata asked Mr. Gould and Mr. <br />Harrison if a motion was made to lower <br />H:\HONE\CPHIPPS\WPDATA\COMMSN\030797.hffN -9- <br />
