South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - March 7, 1997 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />a. continued.... <br />their bids in to the General Services <br />Administration by next Friday. Both Mr. <br />Gould and Mr. Harrison agreed that they <br />could respond by 5:00 p.m. Wednesday. <br />Ms. Schwartz made the following motion: <br />► That parcels A, B, and C, as previously described, be awarded to the <br />recipient of the General Services Administration approved project, bid <br />either by SSP Properties or Mr. and Mrs. Gould, subject to the following: <br />• Site control will be provided only if the developer receives General <br />Services Administration's approval for the Social Security Building on a <br />part of that site. <br />• The Social Security Administration Building will be at least 13,000 sft. <br />• There will be at least one other building constructed on the site within 3 <br />years of the date of award of the General Services Administration Social <br />` Security project, and that building be at least 8,000 sft. <br />• The recipient also will work with the staff to assure high quality urban <br />design and site improvements, complimentary with the Transpo Center. <br />• Redevelopment receives free and clear the total amount of $70,000 for the <br />3 parcels, "as is ". <br />• A 10% bid and performance bond be filed with the Commission by 5:00 <br />p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 1997. <br />• Until that time, both developers have the opportunity to review any and all <br />environmental studies and reports the Commission has received or has <br />asked for those parcels. <br />• The developer will bear all costs of demolition, environmental work, <br />development, all sidewalks, and other public site improvements. <br />• The Commission will not be <br />recommending tax abatements for <br />projects developed on these parcels. <br />The motion was seconded by Mr. Hunt COMMISSION APPROVED THE DISPOSITION OF <br />and unanimously carried.
