r
JOHN OXIAN: Arrived during the consideration of this C. of A.
GERALD UJDAK: Presented the report of the Advisory Committee.
THOMAS ROTH, Architect, made a brief oral presentation of the project proposal, and
displayed architectural renderings of the elevation.
STEVEN RIBBLE, Landscape Architect, was present to answer questions regarding the
proposed driveway and other landscaping.
LEO McCORMICK, representing the East Wayne Street Local Historic District, asked
the representatives of the school corporation why so much of the playground equipment
was removed. He also inquired whether any swings, playground equipment, or recreation
area would still be available to the children in the Wayne Street and surrounding
neighborhood.
JOHN OXIAN: Asked the landscape architect to provide a site plan of the proposed
landscaping.
He also inquired regarding which stone work from the boiler house might be
salvaged and reused on the new building.
THOMAS ROTH, Architect, answered that they need a field survey of the cornice
molding on the boiler building before they will know how much can be salvaged and
reused.
JOHN OXIAN: Made a motion to approve the granting of a C. of A. for the following:
(a) Demolition of the boiler/furnace annex, including the original structure and later
connecting wing, conditional upon the salvage and reuse of as much architectural
stone and cornice molding as possible.
(b) The building of additions for library/media center and a new classroom wing,
pursuant to the architectural rendering and elevations presented at this meeting,
and with the specification that the windows in all additions are to be the same
size, shape, dimensions, and profile as on the original building.
(c) Removal of the maple tree specified in the site plan presented for the bus
driveway and the building of the bus driveway on the South lawn of the school.
(d) The installation of American with Disability Act, compliant accessibility ramps.
B.
