conversation that he would put a proposal together and get back to me on what he would
be able to do on this matter with the street lights.
JOHN OXIAN: The reason we need this information is because we have to come up
with a recommendation for the Jefferson Street Bridge. At the meeting they left it up to
us to come up with a recommendation. This type of fluted pole would be the closest to
what you would want to put on the Jefferson Street Bridge, even though it won't be
exactly like the ones that were there.
This type of pole would also be ones that you could use in other neighborhoods and
possibly even use them in Leeper Park. You can use either the globe or lantern light
fixtures with these poles. Right before you get to the bus garage on North Shore Drive
there are to L shaped cast iron light poles that are very similar to the ones that used to be
on the Jefferson Street Bridge. These are the same two L shaped cast iron light poles that
we are planning on making into landmarks.
WAYNE DOOLITTLE: The architect has expressed a desire to use the brick from bricks
from Memorial on Navarre Street to recreate paths in Leeper Park. After bricks are taken
out of the street, they will be delivered and stored at the South Bend Foundry on Franklin
Street until they are needed.
I have been working with Alex Regnery, an architect who lives on Riverside Drive. l
-met with him this afternoon and he is going to use the city's drawing of Main Street to
present to us a compromise of another way that Park Avenue can be laid out to provide
for additional parking. We are using this as what the city presented as the original and
we are going to do an overlay on that and then make another presentation as to what we
think would fit in there. We hope to have this done by the end of this month.
5. Legal Report (None was presented)
IV. HEARING OF VISITORS (No visitors present spoke)
V. OLD BUSINESS
1.
