to be restored to their proper locations where they were removed from. If this is not dune
then we will take the appropriate action.
Now this one back here, on 23 what is going on with this one? Is this a state highway
putting in an access road or who is? Is this the one we gave permission for?
KAREN HAMMOND NASH: We were expecting to receive an application to remove
two large sycamore or catalpa trees from the front of faire house, which is a local
landmark. We in fact did receive an application; but, it was then ,withdrawn. We are
expecting that it will be resubmitted for at least the removal of one of those sycamore
trees.
Discussion was held among commission members regarding the access road on 23, and
the application that was submitted for the removal of a least one or two of the sycamore
or catalpa trees in front of a farm house that is presently a local landmark.
JOHN OXIAN: Do not give staff approval for the removal of the two sycamore or
catalpa trees. Inform them that this is a local landmark area and that they have to come in
and get approval from the commission first before or if any action will be taken on this
matter.
Regarding the matter with Franklin Street; I would still like to have legal action
taken against the people across the street, since nothing is being done on Franklin Street.
They have violated their C. of A., it has expired everything else. I feel the same situation
is happening there as is happening on West North Shore Drive. They still have not put
any railings on the porch. They are currently violating all the rules and regulations. I
would Iike to see legal action taken as soon as possible.
JOHN OXIAN: Let's go to the legal report on the PANA Settlement Proposal.
A discussion was held among commission member: regarding the past and present
information on the PANA Settlement Proposal. Commission members also discussed
what has been done already and what is currently being done to settle this matter.
JOHN OXIAN: Going an to number four of the staff= reports.
KAREN HAMIVIGND HASH: Intern's report regarding the proposed German Township
Historic District. We received an additional twenty-eight signatures added to the original
petition. The challenge in dealing with this is while some of the houses are farm houses
from the late eighteen and early nineteen hundreds, most of the older houses have been
significantly altered and many of the signatures are from people who own much newer
houses. So determining a period of historic significance and determining a rational set of
boundarics for the district is going to be an interesting talent.
The other matter of Indian burial mounds; the person from the department of
archaeology, who had hoped to come the first of this month and do a survey, was not able
to come after all. I am hoping we can schedule him to come at some later date. Diane
actually has access to a -----
17
