KAREN HAMMOND -NASH: Earlier this summer the center front second story windows in this house were replaced by a contractor who failed to obtain a Certificate of Appropriateness before proceeding, and whose application was subsequently denied. While I believe that the owner recovered the original casement sashes for the windows and the original jambs remain in place; the carpenter that took over the job believes that neither the existing jambs nor the sashes are in a condition that merits reinstallation of the original. The owner and the carpenter propose to remove the offensive smaller window with patched -on double jambs and to install new replacement windows which they believe will duplicate the originals in appearance. Even though the owner and the contractor could not be here; the submitted notes with his application describing the color of the windows they intend to have there. Staff recommends approval on this matter. GERALD UJDAK: Are there any questions or comments from commission members? JOANN SPORLEDER: I am curious about the term true divided light. KAREN HAMMOND -NASH: Means that the mutton dividers will be on both the inside and the outside of the window.' They won't only be in between the glass, or just on the inside, or just on the outside; but, will be on both the inside and the outside of the window. GERALD UJDAK: Are there any other questions? If not, than I ask that it be dropped to the bottom of the agenda. JOHN OXIAN: I make a move that it be tabled until the end of the Certificates of Appropriateness agenda.
