KAREN HAMMOND -NASH: So your instructions for me is to find out approximately what it
costs the department to actually do each case that is before them. If we do find out what the
salary is per year, what use do you wish me to make of this information then?
Further discussion was then held among commission members and the following points were
discussed:
1. What the commission should do with the information that they receive from the
Code Enforcement Office.
2. What steps if any the commission should take to enable the limited number
of cases that the commission would bring each year could be heard by a code
enforcement officer.
3. John asked Karen to set up a meeting between him and Kathy Davis so that they
could discuss this matter in further detail.
2. Election of Officers
GERALD UJDAK: The report of the nominating committee which consists of me and Mary
Jane Chase is as follows:
1. President — John Oxian
2. Vice - President — Gerald Ujdak
3. Treasurer — Mary Jane Chase
4. Secretary — Catherine Hostetler
KAREN HAMMOND -NASH: Staff has been informed that all of the nominees have indicated
their willingness to serve if elected.
RICHARD MORRISON: I move that the nominations be closed.
JOANN SPORLEDER: Seconds the motion and the motion carries unanimously.
3. Election of Standing Committees
JOHN OXIAN: The Standing Committees I am going to keep just the same way they are now
unless some of you want to change around. Except for certain commission members that are no
longer with us.
VI. NEW BUSINESS
1. Resolutions regarding Leeper Park and Bridge
KAREN HAMMOND -NASH: A proposal has been made that the commission might want to
make a resolution setting forth the general position as to what sort of things might be acceptable
or not acceptable as a matter of principle regarding Leeper Park or Leeper Bridge. That other
entities in the City or of the city would be informed before making plans regarding what sort of
things would or wouldn't be approved.
