46 MARTHA CHOITZ: I thought I saw that some of the windows have diamond
47 panes, are they to be kept.
48
49 RHONDA SAUNDERS: They will be replaced with diamond paned windows.
50
51 JOHN OXIAN: Why are we replacing all of the windows?
52
53 RHONDA SAUNDERS: The owner has many issues with air filtration; the windows
54 are old and leak badly. I did receive a call from a window company that was submitting
55 a quote to the owner on wood replacement windows. Apparently, the owner is leaning
56 toward wood windows.
57
58 JOHN OXIAN: I recommend that the window portion of the application be tabled
59 until the owner decides between vinyl and wood replacement windows and approve the
60 landscaping portion of the application.
61
62 JOANN SPORLEDER: Most of today's so called wood windows are in fact vinyl
63 clad or aluminum clad so it really doesn't matter if they are wood or vinyl. The house is
64 covered with aluminum siding, as is all the window trim, correct.
65
66 RHONDA SAUNDERS: Yes.
67
68 JOANN SPORLEDER: I suggest going ahead with the application because it seems
69 to be in the vain of what's already there.
70
71 RHONDA SAUNDERS: Give the option of wood or vinyl windows to the owner?
72
73 JOANN SPORLEDER: Yes, because all the wood windows I have looked at are
74 vinyl on the outside and wood on the inside.
75
76 JOHN OXIAN: The reason I made this house a landmark was not because of the
77 architectural significance, but for the historical significance.
78
79 JEFF BERNDT: Mrs. Saunders is correct, I have looked at this house previously
80 and the windows are in bad shape with severe air leakage issues.
81
82 JOANN SPORLEDER: I move to approve application 2001-0330 in its entirety,
83 leaving the option of either wood or vinyl replacement windows up to the owner.
84
85 RICHARD MORRISON: I second the motion.
86
87 After due consideration, the following action was taken:
88
89 Upon a motion by Joann Sporleder, being seconded by Richard Morrison and
90 carried unanimously, application 2001-0330 was approved in its entirety with the option
91 of wood or vinyl replacement windows left up to the owner.
0
