COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION
FOR
2119 PORTAGE— WALNUT TREE
The designated special committee assigned to review the application regarding the trimming of
a Walnut Tree at 2119 Portage, met with the State Forester o site, on June 6, 2001. After in-
specting the tree and hearing the foresters opinion on the matter the committee makes the fol-
lowing recommendation.
Mr. Philippis along with a tree trimming firm of his choice submit a complete descrip-
tion of the project to the Commission. The project description must be thorough in regards to
how much will be taken off, how it will be taken off, where the branches will be cut, which
branches will be cut and when it will be done so that members of the Commission and Staff can
be present. The Commission will not take action on this application until the above require-
ments and all questions are satisfied. If the proposed project is done in a sensitive manner and
under Commission supervision, with no ill affects to the tree then the committee recommends
approval.
The staff has informed Mr. Philippes of this recommendation and has suggested that he
try to, obtain such a plan by the June 18th meeting for the Commission review, otherwise, the
project will have to wait until the July 16th meeting, unless the Commission sees fit to leave the
final decision up to the committee.
