230 JOSEPH SIMA: The snow over the winter along with the disrepair of the structure
231
232
233
234
235
236
237
238
239
240
241
242
243
244
245
246
247
248
led to the collapse.
GERALD UJDAK: I would suggest that you have some one inspect for termites, they
may have contributed to the condition of the garage.
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: I move to approve application 2001-0427-2 as
recommended by staff without a raised panel door.
RICHARD HELMUS: I second the motion.
After due consideration, the following action was taken:
Upon a motion by Catherine Hostetler, being seconded by Richard Helmus and
carried unanimously, application 2001-0427-2 was approved as recommended by staff
with the stipulation that a flat garage door be installed rather then a raised panel door.
5. 2001-0502,1618 East Wayne, rear addition.
249 RHONDA SAUNDERS: This was a last minute application that needed to be heard
250 tonight, so the staff was unable to obtain the needed drawings to make a
251 recommendation. The owner, Leda Hall and her contractor are here tonight with
252 completed drawings to present the proposed addition.
253
254 LEDA HALL: With one small exception we used the existing foot print of the
255 house. On the first floor where the bath, laundry and closet are we added an additional
256 eleven feet to square off the rear addition. The house is made of brick the addition- that is
257 on the house now is aluminum siding, and what we are proposing for the new addition
258 will be cedar clapboard, which will be stained to match the brick. The screened in porch
259 will remain the same.
260
261 The garage is not as deep as new garages and it will not hold our new car. The faeade of
262 the garage is brick with a little bit of siding. We are proposing to replace the siding with
263 the same cedar that will go on the addition and bump the back wall of the garage out
264 about six feet. We will also install a new service door and overhead door.
wevi
266 JOHN OXIAN: What type of garage door are you going to put in?
267
268 LEDA HALL: We will replace it with a new garage door as similar to the original
269 as possible but a lot lighter.
270
271 JOHN OXIAN: What about the service door?
272
273 LEDA HALL: The service door is nailed shut because we have had a break-in so
274 it will be replaced with a steal raised panel door. We cannot use one with a window
275 because of break-ins.
