184 talking about cutting at the property line and at risk is the health and beauty of this tree. I
185 hope you will not find this appropriate.
186
187 SERAFIN PHILIPPES: If you come look at the tree you will see that it does hang
188 over my house leaving walnuts at my back door. Trimming tree branches causes new
189 growth; I am not asking to cut up the property line I just want to cut little branches from
190 above my house.
191
192 MARTHA CHOITZ: Most of the Commission members have been out to the site
193 and seen the tree.
194
195 JOHN OXIAN: I would like to appoint a special committee for this issue with at
196 least three to five individuals.
197
198 GERALD UJDAK: I move to place application 2001-0427 into a special committee to
199 investigate the nature of the situation, confer with such experts that the committee deems
200 appropriate and then report back to the Commission on June 18, 2001.
201
202 JERRY WEINER: I second the motion.
203
204 After due consideration, the following action was taken:
205
206 Upon a motion by Gerald Ujdak, being seconded by Jerry Weiner and carried
207 unanimously, application 2001-0427 was placed into special committee for further
208 review.
209
210 The Cm
omittee will be made up of John Oxian, Joann Sporleder, Martha Choitz, Richard
211 Helmus and Mary Jane Chase.
212
213 4. 2001-0427-2,1019 Riverside Drive, garage.
214
215 JOHN OXIAN: I issued an emergency demolition order for their garage. Code
216 Enforcement contacted us requesting such action because of the condition of the original
217 garage.
218
219 BONNIE SIMA: Code Enforcement gave us less then 24 hours notice to have the
220 collapsed garage removed.
221
222 RHONDA SAUNDERS: There have been a couple of changes to the staff
223 recommendation and application since the staffs report was written. The owners are now
224 requesting that the new garage have a hipped roof rather then the previously proposed
225 gable and Mr. Oxian has suggested that instead of a raised panel overhead garage door
226 the owners install a flat overhead garage door.
227
228 GERALD UJDAK: What caused the collapse of the garage?
229
5
