Staff continues to monitor the Indiana Historic Sites and Structures Inventory for the City of <br />South Bend and St. Joseph County, maintaining files and accumulating data pertinent to <br />keeping this inventory current. <br />The Commission has also made great strides in bringing this department into the Twenty -First <br />Century, with the addition of new computers, software, internet access, copy machines, printers, <br />scanner and a new state of the art fax machine. <br />PROJECTS AND GOALS FOR THE FUTURE <br />As noted, the commission will complete the printing of the new County Survey, distributing <br />copies to many agencies all over Indiana. The commission will continue its efforts to identify, <br />research and protect potential local landmarks and districts using the city and county surveys. <br />The commission will also establish a method of inspecting Certificate of Appropriateness <br />projects, responding to notices of work commencing with out permits and reviewing <br />deteriorating historic properties. This procedure manual will be created as a guide for the <br />Commission's newest position, a part-time building inspector. , <br />
