Certificates of Appropriateness
1. 2000-0810 —112 S. Lafayette, roof top lighting
RHONDA SAUNDERS: This application was tabled at last months committee
meeting to allow the staff time to look into Mrs. Sporleders questions regarding any
affect the lights may have on the state funding. I have contacted the state office and
was given verbal confirmation that the lights would not affect the state funding.
However, I was unable to get anyone in the state office to put such a statement in
writing. The state office further noted that this issue is up to the Local Preservation
Commission, they will make no official comment either way.
CHERYL GREENE: Mrs. Saunders statements confirm the
conversations I have had previously with state officials, that this is a local issue.
They could also not confirm nor deny whether or not they had reviewed this
information as part of their initial administrative review. This is part oft the reason
why they will not give the Commission a written finding.
JOANN SPORLEDER: The state office could at least put the fact that this is a
local issue in writing.
1
