The fencing does not look
appropriate to the neighborhood nor does the fencing being proposed today. I believe the
application should be placed into the standards and maintenance committee for further
review.
JOHN OXIAN: The fencing mentioned by Mr. Helmus was installed to keep
people from parking cars on the vacant lot.
JOANN SPORLEDER: I don't see any particular reason for the installation of this
fence; it certainly wasn't installed for security and appears to be something that would be
easily removed in the future if desired.
MARTHA CHOITZ: What decision did the Commission make regarding this
fence in December?
JOHN OXIAN: The Commission did not have a monthly meeting last month due to
bad weather.
MARTHA CHOITZ: So, absolutely nothing has been done about this application
and the owner did install it without a Certificate of Appropriateness?
RHONDA SAUNDERS: Correct.
RICHARD MORRISON: A vote for the motion means that the application would be
placed into standards and maintenance?
RHONDA SAUNDERS: No, a vote for the motion would approve the application as
submitted.
RICHARD HELMUS: I miss interpreted the motion and would like to withdraw
my second.
JERRY WEINER: I second the motion to approve the application.
