The historic preservation designation of all of Applicant's real
estate substantially reduces its value and transferability without
fair and adequate compensation to your Applicant.
Your Applicant further states that on May 10, 1976 John Oxian made
written representations including, ,if your house is declared a
landmark by ordinance..." Applicant understood that only the
residence on the property was to be given historical designation.
Applicant was further told that the historical designation could be
removed if, for example, there was placed a lit advertising sign in
her front yard.
Applicant respectfully requests that the historic designation be
vacated from the above described real estate so that the same may
be utilized for residential development purposes.
WHEREFORE, your Petitioner/Applicant prays and respectfully
requests that the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend &
St. Joseph County upon due consideration and upon such hearing as
is necessary enter such appropriate document or Ordinance vacating
and releasing the above described real estate from any and all
designation of historic preservation.
Respectfully submitted,
Doris S.
