STAFF REPORTS <br />A. Staff Approvals <br />A list of staff approved certificates was included in the monthly packet. No one had questions <br />or comments. <br />B. Legal <br />THOMAS BODNER reported that he had earlier sent a letter to the School Corporation, and <br />an answer, addressed to John Oxian as President of the Commission, was delivered just prior <br />to this meeting, and will be attached to the Minutes, assaying that the School Superintendent <br />will not be attempting to attend HPC's meetings until the legal issues are resolved. He further <br />reported that this Board's suit very soon, naming the School Corporation and the State of <br />Indiana as necessary parties, since we are attacking the legality of Bauer's statute. <br />RHONDA SAUNDERS suggested that the Historic Preservation Commissions of Mishawaka <br />and New Carlisle, and/or their legal council, be advised of our action, and invited to join the <br />lawsuit as party plaintiffs. <br />THOMAS BODNER said that he will be sending a copy of the complaint he intends to file on <br />behalf of HPC before filing it with the court.. <br />Discussion of various legal issues followed. <br />3. <br />JOHN OXIAN: <br />Miscellaneous Activities & Grants <br />Nothing new to report, until August. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS <br />A. Re -rate of properties at 333 Tonti and 621 North Lafayette <br />CATHRINE HOSTETLER moved that both of the properties be re -rated as proposed. Tonti <br />from C -9 to S -12, and North Lafayette C10 to S -12. <br />RICHARD MORRISON seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously. <br />B. Madison School Project — Update report. <br />RHONDA SAUNDERS amended her report by saying that the required muttons had not yet <br />been added to the windows, and that she would continue to follow that matter. <br />C.
