The owner is proposing to terrace the front yard hill with 6X6 treated timbers, 3 tiers
each 2' high by 4' wide on the south side and 22' wide on the north side. The proposed
tiers will be edged by timbers and will be mulched with 1" to 1.5" washed river rock and
will be filled in with assorted perennials. The guidelines for Riverbend state that all new
work should be done in scale and design with the district. There are several other
properties along Riverside Drive, which have terraced the front hill. The staff feels the
project will not alter or destroy any historical features of the property and is with in the
guidelines, thus, staff recommends approval.
