183 JOHN OXIAN: The staff can dispense with reading the history portion of the staff
184 report as it has been read at previous Commission meetings.
185
186 Mr. Talley read the staff recommendation into the minutes.
187
188 J. EDWARD TALLEY: The Standards and Maintenance Committee met with Mr.
189 Kil to do a pre- review of the application.
190 JOANN SPORLEDER: The committee discussed the drainage issue as well as the
191 trees on the property.
192
193 GREG KIL: We are proposing the light fixture that was attached to last months
194 application.
195
196 There are two windows on the north fagade that the sills will have to be lowered 24" for
197 fire department access. Essentially this alteration will not be visible form the public way
198 because of the size of the first floor consignment shop.
199
200 The owner will retain some of the healthy trees located on the property that are not in
201 way of the project.
202
203 JOHN OXIAN: Will the sills be kept and reused on the two windows previously
204 discussed.
205
206 GREG KIL: The sill will be salvaged on the inside and on the exterior if the sills are
207 stone, but, if they are brick a new brick sill will be installed in a manor that would match
208 the existing.
209
210 JOHN OXIAN: I would like to see some of the trees in the lawn area retained.
211
212 JOANN SPORLEDER: Before we ask that the trees be saved we should know what
213 type the trees are. If they are trash trees then they do not need to be saved.
214
215 JOHN OXIAN: Some of the trees are Hickory and others are Trees of Heaven.
216
217 JOANN SPORLEDER: The recommendation should be that if there are any good
218 hardwood trees in the lawn that are not in the way of the project then they should be
219 saved.
oftf,
221 MARTHA CHOITZ: I move that application 2000 -0703 be approved with the
222 stipulation that the sills be reused and that any good hard wood trees that would work into
223 the parking lot plan be retained.
224
225 JOANN SPORLEDER: I second the motion.
226
1
