b. 1999-0806-713 W. LaSalle, rear porch <br />Mrs. Choitz noted that the Standards and Maintenance Committee did meet with the contractor, <br />Mike Carter, of JMC Construction. Mr. Talley and Mr. Oxian presented the Committee report <br />and circulated photographs. Mr. Oxian moved to approve the committee recommendation. Mr. <br />Weiner seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />E. Staff Reports <br />1. Certificate of Appropriateness Staff Approvals <br />See attachment. <br />2. Legal <br />None. <br />3. Miscellaneous Activities and Grants <br />Mr. Talley stated that the staff is applying for the Hoosier Grant for the street lights. <br />IV. Old Business <br />1. 1999-0518-803 N. Notre Dame <br />Mr. Talley noted that the Certificate of Appropriateness application was before the Board of <br />Public Works. <br />2. 1040 W. Washington—Natatorium <br />Mr. Oxian noted that the Commission's recommendation is being sent to the Common Council <br />for landmarking. <br />V. New Business <br />Mr. Oxian noted that the office has received new computers and software. Mr. Talley noted <br />that over the next two years the staff will be placing all files into the computer as well as <br />creating a web page. <br />VI. Hearing of Visitors <br />Ann McFadden asked if Mr. Talley was aware of the re -zoning request in front of Area Plan for <br />705 Lincolnway East. Mr. Talley stated that he was aware of this issue and planned to attend <br />the Area Plan Commission meeting. Mr. Oxian stated that by having the property re -zoned to <br />"B" residential from "C" commercial the owner would not be allowed to use the structure for <br />store or offices. Gina DeLaruelle stated that the Edgewater Liaison Committee is attempting to <br />put together a neighborhood meeting for the community to come together along with the <br />Historic Preservation Commission and City Code Enforcement. She further noted that by <br />holding this meeting the liaison committee hopes to solve some of the many problems facing <br />their neighborhood. Mrs. McFadden showed concern over the fact that the Commission does <br />not enforce the district guidelines or any maintenance standards. Mrs. McFadden also <br />expressed concern over illegal substances on the property at 717 Lincolnway East and the <br />abandoned, unsecured status of 709 Arch Avenue. <br />
