MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />of the <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />Monthly Meeting County Commissioner's <br />7:30 p.m. Conference Room <br />Monday, April 19, 1999 7th Floor County -City Building <br />I. Call to Order <br />John Oxian, president of the commission, brought the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Commission members present were: John Oxian, Catherine Hostetler, Martha Choitz, Adrian <br />Fine, Ron Zmyslo, Keri Gallagher and Richard Helmus. Commission staff present was: Ed <br />Talley, director and Aladean DeRose, consul. <br />Also attending the meeting were: Peter Agostino, Jerry Oberly, Bruce Zimmerman, Bob Miller, <br />Emee Miller and Jeff Berndt. <br />III. Public Hearing <br />A. Certificate of Appropriateness Applications <br />1. 1999-0308 - 510 S. St. Joseph, multiple projects <br />Mr. Talley presented the staff report and circulated photographs. He also noted that the owner, <br />Jeff Berndt, was present. Mr. Berndt discussed the need for rear access stairs to the third floor <br />of the house to accommodate a third story apartment. He went on to discuss his future desire to <br />restore the front porch. Mr. Oxian stated that the application should be placed into the <br />Standards and Maintenance Committee to finalize the details. Mrs. Hostetler moved to place <br />the application into the Standards and Maintenance Committee. Mr. Fine seconded the motion. <br />The motion passed unanimously. <br />2. 1999-0312 - 1215 Riverside Drive, code compliances <br />Mr. Talley presented the staff report and circulated photographs. He also noted that Jerry <br />Oberly, project manager for the Logan House, was present. Mr. Oxian stated that since there <br />seemed to be some miscommunication between the Commission Staff and the property manager <br />the application should be tabled until next month in the hopes that the situation can be resolved <br />without any alterations to the house. Mrs. Hostetler moved to table the application until the <br />May meeting. Mrs. Choitz seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />
