C. Correspondence <br />None. <br />D. Committee Reports <br />1. Standards and Maintenance <br />Mr. Oxian stated that he would like a letter sent or legal action taken against Mr. Shakour. <br />a. 739 Bronson Street <br />There was some discussion over the committees approval of Mr. Farrs fence on the condition <br />that he plant shrubs. Mr. Oxian stated that Mr. Farr should not have action taken against him, <br />however, the Commission should vote on the Committees recommendation. Mrs. Hostetler <br />moved to approve the installation of fourteen galvanized posts with cables to enclose a 120 foot <br />by 40 foot vacant lot. Eleven posts are to be installed along the side lot line and three posts <br />along the alley with a maximum height of three feet. To help hide the fence a hedge is to be <br />planted along the side lot line and alley along with the planting of two shrubs on each corner of <br />the lot. Mr. Zmyslo seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />b. 617 West LaSalle <br />Mrs. Hostetler reported that the Standards and Maintenance Committee met on April 20, 1999 <br />with the owner to discuss the stairway window, a new two story opening with windows that is <br />171"x79", all per documentation submitted by owner and discussed with the committee. They <br />also discussed replacement of a rear window, restoring the balusters on the porch, a privacy <br />fence for rear of property with Gothic tops, landscaping in front along with a picket fence to <br />enclose the front yard. Mrs. Hostetler stated that the committee recommends to the <br />Commission that full approval be granted for these items with the submission of more <br />documentation and the assistants of staff. Mr. Oxian stated that he would have to oppose the <br />installation of a rear yard privacy fence. Ms. Gallagher seconded the motion. The motion . <br />passed with Mr. Oxian voting against the installation of a rear yard privacy fence. <br />c. 510 South St. Joseph <br />Mrs. Hostetler stated that the Standards and Maintenance met on April 20, 1999 with the owner <br />to discuss removal of the second story of the rear concrete block addition, siding of the <br />remaining portion of the addition with wood clapboard to match the rest of the house, <br />installation of three double hung wood sash windows and demolition of the west side addition. <br />She went to report that the committee has fully explored these projects and recommends <br />approval with the addition of more documentation and the help of staff. Mr. Zmyslo seconded <br />the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />2. Historic Districts <br />Mr. Oxian stated that Cushing Street Proposed Local Historic District is being tabled until <br />another meeting can be held for the property owners. <br />5 <br />
