Mr. Fine stated that the Cushing Street proposed district should include both the north and south <br />sections. Mr. Oxian asked Mrs. DeRose if an ordinance could be designed to establish a <br />historic district that would allow out laying areas to be introduced into the district at a later date, <br />as coucil approved, amendments. Mrs. DeRose stated that she believes a district would have to <br />be organized as is and maybe at a later date consolidated with a nearby district. Mr. Oxian <br />remarked that the Commission could either vote tonight on just the northern half of the district <br />or wait until next month to vote on the entire district. Mrs. DeRose stated that a district could <br />be enlarged after its designation, but, such a potential enlargment could not be made a <br />contingent in the original designation. There was some discussion over whether or not to vote <br />tonight or wait. Mr. Zmyslo moved to continue the discussion and the vote until April 19, <br />1999. Mr. Fine seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />III. Regular Business <br />A. Approval of Minutes <br />1. March 15, 1999 <br />Mr. Oxian noted that on page 2, top paragraph, it should mention that the rear stairs are to be <br />removed. He further noted that on page three, paragraph two should be stricken and that where <br />the WPA House is mentioned it should include the current and old address of the house. Mr. <br />Oxian stated that on page four the fourth paragraph should be deleted. Mrs. Gallagher noted <br />that on page six her name was miss spelled. Mrs. Choitz moved to approve the minutes as <br />corrected. Mr. Weiner seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />B. Treasurers Report <br />None. <br />C. Correspondence <br />Mr. Talley reported that notification was received stating that the Commission won the grant for <br />next year. <br />D. Committee Report <br />1. Historic Districts <br />None. <br />2. Historic Landmarks <br />Mr. Oxian noted that he would like Mr. Fine to look into the possibility of landmarking the <br />Masonic Temple as well as the former First Christian Church. <br />3. Awards Committee <br />Mr. Oxian stated that Martha Choitz will be apart of the awards Committee. <br />4. Standards and Maintenance <br />Mr. Fine stated that on February 24, 1999, the Committee met with architect Bill Lamie to look <br />at primary plans for work to be down in the East Wayne Street District. <br />3 <br />
