Landmark .nomination for the JMS Building at " 108 N.. 'Main Street to the Common <br />Council for their approval. Mrs.�Choitz seconded the motion: The motion <br />passed unanimously with Mr. Oxian out of the room during the vote. <br />IV. Regular Business- <br />Mr. <br />usiness Mr. Oxian returns to the room and Mr. Talley returned the gavel. <br />A. Approval_of Minutes <br />1. March 2, 1998 <br />Mr. Oxian asked for any corrections or additions._ None were given. Mrs. <br />Petrass moved to accept the minutes. .Mrs. Choitz seconded the motion. The <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />2. March 16, 1998 <br />Mr. Oxian.noted that he had given his corrections prior to the meeting. He_.' <br />.,also noted an error half way down the second page where it -a "to" needed to be <br />added -in front of "go ahead". Mrs'.. Choitz noted that there were' some <br />misspelling of names. Mr. Weiner moved to accept the minutes as'corrected. <br />Mrs'. Choitz seconded the motion.. The motion passed unanimously.', <br />B. Treasurer's Report ' <br />None. <br />C. Correspondence <br />None. <br />D. Committee Reports <br />Mr. Oxian ,stated that. the Nominating Committee could .be removed from the <br />agenda <br />1. Budget &_Finance <br />Mr. Duvall stated. that when the paper work for. the survey -grant is received, <br />from the state a copy will be sent to the Auditors -Office at which time they - <br />will appropriate an additional $20,000.00 for the Commission. Mr. Oxiari asked <br />if it was matching funds. Mr. Duvall stated that it was., <br />2. Historic Districts <br />None. <br />3. Historic Landmarks <br />A. 66401 Walnut Road -'Request for amendment of designated Landmark <br />Mr. Oxian stated that the Landmarks Committee was recommending denial of this <br />request. Mr. Harman", the owner, stated that the designated Landmark house and <br />its surrounding 5.2 acres is marked off with ancient fence rolls -and is owned <br />by a very -nice couple who is restoring, it. He further noted that he does not <br />understand how his 16 acres affects or contributes to this well defined <br />Landmark. - There was some -discussion over .the process .of removing -part of . -a <br />Landmark. Mr.- Harman asked what the Commission could do for him and how it <br />benefits him to keep his land -under Landmark designation. Mr. Oxian stated <br />that it would not, hurt Mr. Harman nor help him.. Mrs. Sporleder stated that <br />maybe,i.t would help if the process for approving alterations were explained. <br />She further 'stated that the reason behind maintaining. Mr. Harman' -s' land as <br />part -of the Landmark is *to maintain the integrity of the site and:building. <br />Mr. Harman asked who -had seen the.property recently:.
