Mr.. Talley noted" that the Commission has had the same" problem with the'' northern most light in _the North -Shore Drive District. There was•'some discussion over the exact location of the light in question. 3.DHPA'Grant Status a.•1997-98' I. Leeper Park. Mr..Duvall-reported that" the Westerly, Group still has not submitted the draft -for Leeper Park. He also noted that he spoke with them at -which time they stated that a draft should be submitted .shortly after June's meeting. - Mr. Duvall reported that'he-had'also spoken with DHPA requesting an extension until August 30st. 2. District Guidelines a) Mr. Duvall reported that the staff was working hard on the guidelines and that they were progressing, however, the staff still does not.have - a printer that is compatible with the Staff's software. b) Mr: Duvall stated that' the Portage Manor National Register _Nomination'. has been received and should -be on the July.agenda for approval. b. 1998-99 Me. Duvall, reported that the $30,000.00 supplemental' funding was"approved -and" the agreements have been signed with_the State. 4. Proposed Local Historic Districts a. Cushing Street Mr. Duvall stated that 'no new work has been done on the Cushing Street Proposed Historic District. Mr. Oxian- remarked that -a Councilman had asked about the progress of the Cushing Street proposed .'district. Mr. Duvall responded that as soon as -the republishing of the guidelines is finished then the staff will turn its"attentions'.to new projects.' - 5. Liaison -Committee Elections Mr. Duvall, reported that the elections have .been completed and there are liaison committees in every district. He noted that a meeting should be setup with the new liaison members to -walk them through their duties.' 6. DHPA,Bridge Workshop Mr-. Duvall noted that the workshop _had. been -associated, with a convention' of. Industrial archaeologists, which made it a very interesting and refreshing workshop. He also noted that there were many different demonstrations. V. Old Business Nothing to report. VI. New Business Nothing to report. VIII. Hearing -of Visitors Mr. Sporleder-stated that he had gone to a status conference in Indianapolis, - concerning Blake Gardens, at which nothing new was presented except a rumor that .the Army Corp of Engineers may decide in favor of the developer. This rumor did not impress ,the, judge. and he set up another telephone status. conference for July 7. Mr. Duvall asked if the meeting would beheld in MACOG's. conference room. Mr. Sporleder stated that it would be held there. page -16-
