Mr.. Talley noted" that the Commission has had the same" problem with the'' <br />northern most light in _the North -Shore Drive District. There was•'some <br />discussion over the exact location of the light in question. <br />3.DHPA'Grant Status <br />a.•1997-98' <br />I. Leeper Park. <br />Mr..Duvall-reported that" the Westerly, Group still has not submitted the <br />draft -for Leeper Park. He also noted that he spoke with them at -which time <br />they stated that a draft should be submitted .shortly after June's meeting. - <br />Mr. Duvall reported that'he-had'also spoken with DHPA requesting an <br />extension until August 30st. <br />2. District Guidelines <br />a) Mr. Duvall reported that the staff was working hard on the guidelines <br />and that they were progressing, however, the staff still does not.have - <br />a printer that is compatible with the Staff's software. <br />b) Mr: Duvall stated that' the Portage Manor National Register _Nomination'. <br />has been received and should -be on the July.agenda for approval. <br />b. 1998-99 <br />Me. Duvall, reported that the $30,000.00 supplemental' funding was"approved -and" <br />the agreements have been signed with_the State. <br />4. Proposed Local Historic Districts <br />a. Cushing Street <br />Mr. Duvall stated that 'no new work has been done on the Cushing Street <br />Proposed Historic District. Mr. Oxian- remarked that -a Councilman had asked <br />about the progress of the Cushing Street proposed .'district. Mr. Duvall <br />responded that as soon as -the republishing of the guidelines is finished then <br />the staff will turn its"attentions'.to new projects.' - <br />5. Liaison -Committee Elections <br />Mr. Duvall, reported that the elections have .been completed and there are <br />liaison committees in every district. He noted that a meeting should be setup <br />with the new liaison members to -walk them through their duties.' <br />6. DHPA,Bridge Workshop <br />Mr-. Duvall noted that the workshop _had. been -associated, with a convention' of. <br />Industrial archaeologists, which made it a very interesting and refreshing <br />workshop. He also noted that there were many different demonstrations. <br />V. Old Business <br />Nothing to report. <br />VI. New Business <br />Nothing to report. <br />VIII. Hearing -of Visitors <br />Mr. Sporleder-stated that he had gone to a status conference in Indianapolis, - <br />concerning Blake Gardens, at which nothing new was presented except a rumor <br />that .the Army Corp of Engineers may decide in favor of the developer. This <br />rumor did not impress ,the, judge. and he set up another telephone status. <br />conference for July 7. Mr. Duvall asked if the meeting would beheld in MACOG's. <br />conference room. Mr. Sporleder stated that it would be held there. <br />page -16- <br />
