District Guidelines <br />Mr. Duvall noted that the Staff received a laser printer, thus, allowing Lhe <br />guidelines to move into print mode. <br />2.. Portage Manor National Register Nomination <br />Mr. Duvall stated that the a ,letter was receiver from the Commissioners <br />statiiig that they wanted to oppose this nomination. Mr. Duvall stated that he <br />is in the process of scheduling a meeting to discuss the'situation. <br />b. 1998 -1999 <br />1. County Survey <br />Mr. Duvall stated that he has had - a conversation with DHPA where'they should - <br />concern over - the Executive Committee's decisions 'on how to accomplish the <br />survey. Mr. Duvall noted'that he requested that the complaints be'issued to <br />the Commission in a formal letter. <br />4. Proposed Historic Distri8ts <br />a. NorthiSt. Joseph Street <br />Mr. Oxian stated that North St. Joseph Street proposed district is currently <br />in area plan. Mr. Duvall stated that`he expects it to be on the next council <br />-meeting in two weeks. <br />VI. New Business <br />Mr. Fine stated 'that the rowhouse at 319 -321 Lincolnway, West needs to be <br />Landmarked quickly dot to its threatened state. He further stated that it was <br />one - of the, last rowhouses`,in.South Bend and needs immediate attention. Mr. <br />Duvall stated that the Commission needs to make a motion to proceed. Mrs.- <br />Choitz moved to proceed on the landmarking of 319 =321 Lincolnway West. Mr. <br />Talley seconded the motion: The motion passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Fine stated that the Commission, has very long monthly meetings which do <br />not allow members time'to talk about projects and events. He went on-to state <br />that the Commission should have a retreat and that he would be more than happy <br />to host it. A discussion was held regarding when the retreat should take <br />place. <br />VII. Nearing of Visitors <br />Mr. Sporleder that on July 7 there was another phone status conference <br />on Blake Gardens, where nothing was decided and-no permits were issued. He <br />noted that another status conference was set for August 21st in Michigan City. <br />VIII.
