• concerning landmarking a house with out a lot and that if the house is to be <br />moved by Mr. Johnson that thecommission specifically recommend that the house <br />.be moved to 216 S. St. Louis. Mr. Talley asked if the motion was legal. Mr. <br />Oxian responded that it was legal and that the Commission had received a <br />letter from Mrs. DeRose stating this fact. Mr. Talley seconded the motion. <br />The motion passed unanimously. <br />VI. New Business <br />Mr. Sporleder stated that the city was not coming through in regards to the. <br />restoration of Leeper Park. Mr. Talley expressed concern over the possibility, <br />of a bike path coming down his side of the river. Mr. Duvall, stated that the <br />proposed path would be on the other side of the river and that Mr.-Sporleder' <br />was referring to the proposed underpass that would make it safer to cross <br />Michigan Street. There was some discussion over the location of the sidewalk. <br />Mr. Duvall stated that he had a conversation with Phil St. Clair about the <br />walk in which Mr. St. Clair stated that he did not have a real high priority <br />for the walkway. Mr. Duvall also stated that he had sent a memo to Phil St. <br />Clair and Carl Lattrell expressing the need to have someone start pushing the <br />issue since the Commission can only approve things. <br />Mr. Sporleder noted that Michiana Water Shed and other similar groups were <br />considering preparing an application to include the St. Joseph River in the <br />Heritage River Initiative and that they would like the help of the commission. <br />Mr. Oxian stated that he had already mentioned to Mr. Duvall to investigate a <br />way for the Commission to participate in this project. Mr. Duvall noted that <br />• he had attended the meeting in Niles last weekend concerning this matter. <br />VII. Hearing of Visitors <br />Occurred during new business. <br />VIII.
