6) 1997-0905-2 - 24845 State Road'23 - (A)Construct two car garage with white <br />horizontal wood siding to match the summer kitchen and (B)pave and widen the <br />driveway. (C)In addition the applicants propose to build a wood deck or <br />stoop at the rear entrance of the house. <br />Mr. Duvall presented the staff report and circulated photographs. Mr. Duvall <br />noted that the owner, Mrs. Kuntz, was present. Mrs. Hostetler moved to <br />approve part "A" of the application, concerning the new garage. Mr. Wiener <br />seconded the motion. Mr. Oxian asked for some more clarification as to the <br />location of the garage and if the garage would be connected to the house. <br />Mrs. Kuntz stated that the garage would be off to the side and behind the <br />house and that it would be free standing. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Mrs. Hostetler moved to approve part "B" of the application, concerning the <br />driveway. Mr. Talley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Mrs. Hostetler moved to approve part "C" of the application, concerning the <br />deck/stoop. Mrs. .Petrass seconded the motion. Mr. Fine asked if the <br />structure would have a railing. Mr. Duvall responded that it would have a <br />railing along the side by the cellar door. Mr. Fine asked if the balustrade <br />would be,painted. Mrs. Kuntz stated that it would be painted white to match <br />the house. The motion passed unanimously. <br />7) 1997-0908 - 1724 East Wayne Street - Replace a rear prime door with a <br />similar steel door with the same light pattern to resemble the existing wood <br />door <br />Mr. Duvall presented the staff report and circulated photographs. Mr. Duvall <br />noted the owners, Mr. & Mrs.. Howell, were present. Mr. Oxian asked if there <br />• was a picture of the door the owners .want to put in. Mr. Duvall circulated a <br />diagram of a couple of door options made by Aldrich Supply Company. Mr. <br />Derbin, the owners contractor, stated that he and the owners believe that the <br />existing door was not the original door due to the fact that it does not fit <br />the opening. The owners have decided that they would except the door style <br />the Commission chooses. Mr. Oxian asked what the windows looked like in the <br />house. Mr. Derbin.stated that the owners had put new windows in the second <br />story last year that have the six over six divided lights. Mrs. Howell <br />mentioned that the same divided light windows are also in the kitchen. Mr. <br />Fine moved to approve the application per staff recommendation of Ardrich <br />Supply Company steel door design 6B. Mrs. Hostetler seconded the motion. The <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />IV. Regular Business <br />A. Approval of Minutes <br />1. August 18, 1997 <br />Mr. Fine moved to approve the minutes. Mrs. Petrass seconded the motion. The <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />2. August 25, 1997 <br />Mr. Oxian noted that at the bottom of the first page where it stated that "Mr. <br />Oxian moved that the Parks Department come up with a plan for a sidewalk on <br />the north side of the street", should read that the sidewalk should come off <br />of the south side of the bridge and that it step down to the river. Mr. Oxian <br />also noted that on the last page where it states "..if Water Works had done <br />• two applications." Should read that one -was to the Department of <br />Transportation and the other one the Commission had made. Mr. Fine moved to <br />approve the minutes as changed. Mrs. Hostetler seconded the motion. The <br />
