• MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />of the <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />Special Monthly Meeting County Commissioner's <br />7:30 p.m. Conference Room <br />Monday July 15, 1996 7th Floor County -City Building <br />I. Call to Order <br />John Oxian, president of the commission, brought the meeting to order at 7:35 <br />p.m. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Commission members present were: John Borkowski, Richard Bullene, Martha <br />Choitz, Adrian Fine, Catherine Hostetler, John Oxian, Janeanne Petrass, J. <br />Edward Talley, & Jerry Wiener. <br />Commission staff present was: David Duvall, director and Aladean DeRose, <br />counsel. <br />Also attending the meeting were: Scott Peacock, William Cochrane, Norman <br />Buckman, and Richard Borkowski.. <br />III. Public Hearing <br />A. Certificates of Appropriateness <br />1) .1996-0703, 301 South Sunnyside - removal of slate roofing and replacement <br />• with fiberglass shingle. <br />Mr. Duvall presented the Staff Report and distributed photographs. He noted <br />that the applicant was present. Mrs. Petrass moved that the commission approve <br />the COA for removal or existing slate and, replacement with new fiberglass <br />shingle as specified to replicate the appearance of slate. Mr. Borkowski <br />.seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. <br />2) 1996-0705, 519 Edgewater Drive - window and door alterations <br />Mr. Duvall presented the Staff Report and distributed photographs, drawings, <br />and catalog information. He noted that the applicant and his contractor were <br />present. Mrs. Choitz moved that the commission approve the COA for replacement <br />of two windows and closure with siding of the opening where the present <br />inactive storm door is located. Mr. Talley seconded the motion. Mr. Oxian <br />verified with the owner and contractor that the replacement windows will be <br />6/1 sash. Mr. Duvall noted that the contractor had indicated •that the <br />manufacturer had not been established for the windows , but that they would be <br />have wooden frames and sash with insulated glass simulated mullions on the 6/1 <br />format. Fr. Bullene verified with the contractor that the notes on the <br />drawings were more accurate than the illustrations thereon. The motion was <br />passed unanimously. <br />IV. Regular Business <br />A. Approval of Minutes <br />1. June 17, 1996 <br />• Mrs. Hostetler noted a typographical error on page 3. Mr. Oxian noted that he <br />wished his objection to the lattice at 725 Riverside Drive included in the <br />minutes. Mr. Talley noted in the discussion of the brick streets that <br />"Bartlett Street" should be corrected to read "Park Lane". It was determined <br />that this item should stand as reported but correction should otherwise be <br />made regarding the accuracy in additional discussion of the streets to be <br />included. Mr. Talley moved that the June minutes be approved as corrected. <br />
