Mr. Oxian suggested a continuance allowing for a site observation field trip <br />for commission members and staff in the interim, noting that the HPC had <br />architects, Mr. Duvall and FR. Bullene at its disposal. Fr. Bullene made note <br />that although he has degrees and teaches architectural curriculum at <br />university, he is not a registered or practicing architect and that his <br />position on the commission is as "architectural historian". Commission member <br />Choitz moved that the application be continued to the commission's November <br />meeting. Mr. Talley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. The <br />owner duly signed a waiver of statutory time period to allow for the <br />continuance. <br />3. 1313 East Wayne, Street South (LHD-EW) - House addition <br />Mr. Duvall circulated photographs and read the Staff comments, noting that the <br />present proposal differed from the submitted documentation with respect to the <br />height, roof slope, and cladding which is now to be wood as the matching brick <br />is no longer available. Mr. Peralta, the owner, and Mr. Geyer, the contractor <br />responded to questions from the commission. Commission member Choitz moved <br />that the application be approved including the changes of roof pitch and <br />cladding material. Mrs. Petrass seconded the motion. The commission <br />unanimously approved the motion. <br />IV. Regular Business <br />A. Approval of Minutes - September 18, 1995 <br />Mr. Oxian noted that John Borkowski's appointment to the Landmarks Committee <br />was omitted from the Landmarks Committee report. <br />Mr. Talley moved to approve the minutes of the September meeting as corrected. <br />Mrs. Hostetler seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br />B. Treasurer's Report <br />there was no treasurer's report. A quarterly report will be made at the <br />November Meeting. <br />C. Correspondence <br />Mr. Duvall reported the following correspondence: <br />Incoming: <br />1) From Adrian Fine - Survey for the IN Alliance of HD Review Boards - Duvall <br />requested selective response from members in assisting in assembling a <br />response. <br />2) Notice of preliminary CDBG funding. <br />3) Advisory Council on Historic Preservation policy formulation on application <br />of the Secretary of Interior's Standards for Historic Preservation in the <br />development of affordable housing. <br />4) Notice of Preservation Law seminars from Bar Association. <br />Outgoing: <br />1) Director's request to the County Commissioners to allow travel to Indiana <br />Heritage Grant Workshop. <br />2) Director's request to the County Commissioners to allow travel to <br />Grassroots Preservation Round -up. <br />3) Brian & Lisa Bishop 714 Arch Av. regarding lead abatement procedures. <br />4) Copy of Code Enforcement citations to property neighboring the above <br />regarding peeling paint conditions. <br />5) Form letter to interviewees for Administrative Assistant proposition <br />apprising them of status of the position as probably part-time after New Year. <br />6) Letter to Don Fozo delineating our office requirements should our <br />operations be placed in the Building Department as has been proposed. <br />7) Letter to James Emmons of Triad Engineering in response to inquiry on <br />treatment of disturbed (brick) streets in Historic Districts (River Bend) <br />related to utility work. <br />This last item elicited fro Mr. Oxian a comment on the recent removal of brick <br />pavement from an alley in the West Washington NRHD without benefit of <br />
