lifetime resident of South Bend. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1941 and <br />attained the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was decorated by seven nations for <br />his service during World War II. Mr. Nimtz was a longtime civic leader and was <br />elected to the U.S. Congress in 1956. He was president of the South Bend <br />Redevelopment Commission from 1974 until his death in 1990.[10] The building <br />was purchased by Dr. Len Trevino in 1994 and has been renamed the F.
