Annehouse at.'1215 Lincolnway' West for use as 'a Neighborhood Partnership Center.: The purpose'of the Center will be to act as a location for neighborhood-resident.s to come 'together and re -build their neighborhood'through`interaction and education. Due to the. need "to complete some .reiiabilitati�on on the house, 1215 L.W.W. also provides a 'great opportunity to, promote the neighborhood's architectural,'resources and ;provide a'. forum for preservation education. To take advantage of: this opportunity the NNN, Inc. is planning a series of -'workshops aimed at teaching individuals techniques and skills to -use in the rehabilitation of their own homes that will respect .the original character of the house as well as possibly save the owner some money. The NNN, Inc. is seeking co-sponsors for these workshops. To date, Southhold Restorations, South Bend Heritage Foundation and Historic Landmarks Foundation of'Indiana have agreed: I am seeking your support as well. The NNN, Inc. will provide the. funds and the location for the program. The co-sponsors are asked to have stiff representative participate in the planning and publicity of ,the,' workshops. I The workshops will "take. place during the months of January through May with a re -grand opening of the rehabilitated Center planned for Historic Preservation Week 95. Some of the possible topics include: * Porch column -and floor repair * Window rebuilding * Wallpaper stripping * Plaster wall repair * Kitchen design * Wood Floor refinishing * Exterior Painting * Landscaping The subject of each will. coincide with the rehabilitation project that is currently,. underway on: the house. This will- allow the participants to actually."l.earn by doing: An:"expert" in the area to be addressed will give a brief overview of the subject and then guide the participants as they try their new .found talent on the house.
