Drive be inserted verbatim into the minutes. President Oxian moved the minutes <br />be corrected by the insertion of the motion verbatim. Commissioner Petrass <br />asked if there may be some confusion with Mrs. King- Hendriksen being referred <br />to as Mrs. King or Mrs. Hendriksen. Commissioner Petrass asked that the name <br />be consistent throughout. President Oxian moved the minutes be accepted with <br />corrections. Commissioner Weiner seconded the motion. The motion passed, <br />unanimously. <br />B. Treasurer's Report <br />Commissioner Weiner distributed a proposed budget for 1995. Commissioner <br />Weiner gave explanation for the figures. Legal Counsel DeRose noted the CDBG <br />was not actually the amount of the Administrative Assistant's salary because <br />of employment expenses such as FICA, Workers Compensation Insurance, etc. <br />President Oxian explained the overall amount should be $19,000. Mrs. DeRose <br />said a new expense should be added for employment expenses to make the budget <br />balance. President Oxian said he had signed a contract with the City for the <br />CDBG, so he knew the figures exist on paper somewhere. <br />C. Correspondence <br />Ms. Anderson inquired if the Commissioners had received a copy of the pamphlet <br />describing the Preserving the Recent Past Conference. She noted the office had <br />received several copies of the Procedural Due Process in Plain English booklet <br />from the National Trust and it was available to the Commissioners if they <br />wished to borrow it. She reported HLFI had sent a letter asking for <br />nominations for the Servaas Memorial Award for 1994. She reported the office <br />received from the Alliance Review of Preservation Commissions A Report on <br />Preservation Commissions Identification Project Completed. She commented if <br />any Commissioners were interested in that information to contact the office. <br />D. Committee Reports <br />1. Budget and Finance <br />Reported in Treasurer's Report. <br />2. Legal <br />No report. <br />3. Historic Districts <br />Commissioner Choitz reported the Lincolnway West District was progressing on <br />their Standards and the Steering Committee was working toward a public hearing <br />date. <br />4. Historic Landmarks <br />a. First Reading <br />None. <br />b. Second Reading <br />None. <br />c. Status of Recommendations to Council <br />President Oxian reported all the Landmarks had been taken off the December <br />agenda for the Council as it was the same evening as the Commission's meeting. <br />He reported they are all pending. He also reported 310 West Monroe was <br />recently sold. <br />5. Standards and Maintenance <br />Commissioner Van Dalsen reported the Committee had met to discuss COA <br />violations. She noted many legal questions had come up that needed to be <br />answered, but the Committee had several suggestions to pursue. Legal Counsel <br />DeRose reported she believed in order to create penalties, the Ordinance would <br />need to be amended. She said there may be other means that does not require <br />amending the Ordinance such as notices or some form of public embarrassment. <br />President Oxian inquired if property owners violating HPC Ordinances could be <br />
