The motion was restated to <br />approve the COA for the house move at 647 River Avenue with the stipulation <br />that the height of the basement be not more than 30 inches higher than <br />finished grade and that a separate COA was needed for such details as <br />landscaping. sidewalks. driveways. etc. The motion was seconded bz <br />Commissioner Hostetler. The motion was approved unanimouslv. <br />IV. Regular Business <br />A. Approval of Minutes - September 19, 1994 <br />President Oxian stated he had some changes and asked that the approval be put <br />off until the end of the meeting. <br />B. Treasurer's Report <br />There was no report from the Treasurer. Treasurer Weiner noted he had met with <br />Mr. Duvall. <br />C. Correspondence <br />No report. <br />D. Committee Reports <br />I. Budget & Finance <br />Mr. Duvall referred to the list of grants he had prepared. He described each <br />proposal and asked for consideration or instruction from the Commission <br />members. President Oxian asked if Mr. Duvall wanted opinions from each <br />Commissioner before Friday. Mr. Duvall indicated those discussion could be <br />�I held. Commissioner Choitz noted if only one National Register Nomination could <br />be sought, her favor would be toward the North Pumping Station. President <br />Oxian noted that all of the grant proposals were for relatively small amounts, <br />and he thought all of them should be applied for. Mr. Duvall explained the <br />funding levels were gathered from qualified professionals in the field as ball <br />park figures of anticipated costs. President Oxian stated he felt the <br />Commission members should give the Staff their personal priorities in case the <br />DHPA wants to know which they would rather have funded. Mr. Duvall explained <br />the grading system of the DHPA. President Oxian recalled in the past the DHPA <br />has said they could only fund one grant and asked for the proposal most <br />important to the Commission. President Oxian requested that those Commission <br />members with an opinion should call-in to the Staff. <br />Z. Legal <br />No Report. <br />4. Historic Districts <br />President Oxian recounted the meeting held with property owners from the 700 <br />block of Cottage Grove in the Near Northwest Neighborhood. He stated the <br />property owners were preparing a proposed district map. sir. Duvall added he <br />had a phone conversation that day with a property owner who seemed to be <br />looking to the 700 and 800 blocks of Cottage Grove and Cushing. He also noted <br />the possibility of the 500 and 600 blocks of Cushing which are being <br />rehabilitated by the Near Northwest Neighborhood Association Inc. Mr. Duvall <br />estimated there would be about 100 houses in that area. President Oxian noted <br />the upcoming meeting with the Lincolnway West Association on October 19 to <br />discuss the boundaries of the Lincolnway West Local Historic District. <br />5.
