0 <br />• J. Staff Report <br />Mr. Frederick announced that the annual CLG report had been submitted to the state. <br />V. Old Business <br />Commissioner Choitz stated that she would be in touch with the YWCA board. <br />VI. New Business <br />Commissioner Petrass spoke about the condition of Tippecanoe Place and the need <br />for repairs to the exterior. Commissioners Petrass and Wiener had inspected the <br />site and formulated a list of repairs needed prior to the release of the Southhold <br />concern. Commissioner Oxian stated that at some point the HPC would draft a letter <br />to the owners but that it would follow notification from Southhold Restorations. <br />Commissioner Sporleder stated that she had written a letter of support on behalf <br />of the HPC for a landscape study grant applied for by a Ball State faculty member <br />and several others. <br />Commissioner Sporleder moved to investigate the cost of reprinting the landscape <br />survey. Commissioner Petrass seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />VII. Hearing of Visitors <br />Mr. Talley asked if the HPC had given permission to change out the streetlight <br />at Riverside Drive and Forest. Commissioner Oxian replied in the negative. Mr. <br />Talley also indicated that the light had been changed at Golden Avenue and the <br />alley. <br />Mr. Talley stated he had been to a grant workshop in Angola, IN. He stated his <br />interest in the grant(IN. Hist. Society & IN. Humanities Council) to redo the <br />RD-LHD standards book. Commissioner Choitz doubted that the amount ($2500) would <br />be sufficient for the task. Commissioner Oxian asked for the figures for reprint <br />of the Summary Report. Mr. Frederick responded. <br />Mr. Talley then commented on the RD-LHD streetlights special taxing district, <br />the Leeper Park Duck Pond and the creation of a new "super" neighborhood association. <br />He then repeated his concerns about several maintenance problems in the RD-LHD. <br />Commissioner Choitz stated the limitations of the staff and grant restrictions. <br />Mr. Talley asked if he should withdraw his suggestion. Commissioner Choitz replied <br />that suggestions "were always welcome." Commissioner Sporleder asked Mr. Talley <br />to identify the match for the grant.
