CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS STAFF REPOeT <br />PROPERTY-- 740 Bronson Court <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />OWNER -- Ron and Elizabeth Farr <br />DESIGNATION -- Edgewater Place LHD <br />STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCEMISTORIC CONTEXT <br />The house at 740 Bronson is located in the Edgewater Place LHD <br />and has been assigned a non-contributing status (NC). The <br />property has been altered significantly, including the <br />application of stucco and "timber" panels, aluminum storm windows <br />and doors, a deck off of the garage in the rear and a railroad <br />tie fence as well as a metal fence. <br />PROPOSED CHANGE <br />Installation of a 36" by 48" fixed pane window of 1" insulated <br />glass in the south corner of the east facade of the house. <br />STANDARDS <br />"New windows ... that would alter the scale and proportion of the <br />building may not be introduced." (II C 3) <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The applicant's proposal does not violate the standards of the <br />LHD. The proposed window is in kind with the existing window in <br />the addition.
