• <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />Regular Monthly Meeting <br />7:30 p.m. <br />May 17, 1993 <br />I. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p,m. <br />7th Floor, County Commissioner's <br />Conference Room, County -City Building <br />II. Roll Call <br />Members Present: Mrs. Martha Choitz, Mr. Jed Eide, Ms. Catherine Hostetler, Mr. John Oxian, Ms, Jewel <br />Van Dalsen, Mrs. Joann Sporleder, <br />Members Absent: Mrs, Janeanne Petrass. <br />Staff Present: Fred Holycross--Director; Chip Frederick --Administrative Assistant. <br />Also Present: Aladean DeRose--Deputy City Attorney, Marsha Stevenson --Riverside Drive Liaison, Ed <br />Talley --Riverside Drive Liaison,Ron and Liz Farr (740 Bronson). <br />III. Public Hearing <br />A. Certificates of Appropriateness. <br />1. 740 Bronson -- Edgewater Place LHD <br />Mr. Holycross read the staff report describing the proposed project: installation of a 36" x <br />48" fixed pane window of 1" insulated glass in south corner of the east facade of house. Staff <br />recommended that the HPC approve the application as submitted; the proposal does not violate district <br />standards and proposes a renovation that would match the existing window in the addition. <br />Mr. Farr, the owner of the property, stated that there was a window in this location when he began <br />renovating this addition to the house; he closed the opening at that time. <br />Mr. Eide moved that therp oposal be approved as submitted. Ms_ Van Dalsen seconded the motion. <br />No further discussion. <br />Motion approved unanimously. <br />2. 1422 Leer -- Lincolnway East LHD <br />Mr. Holycross read the staff report describing the proposed project: erect a six foot (6') wood <br />privacy fence (stockade type) around the perimeter of the rear yard: to extend twenty-five feet <br />(25') between house and garage on north side of yard and; to extend forty-six feet (46') from house <br />to garage on the south side of yard with an access gate in front of garage; the fence to wrap around <br />driveway and end at southeast corner of garage. A gate is proposed to access the northeast corner of <br />the yard and a double gate (two S' sections) to access the driveway. Both gates to match fencing. <br />Staff recommended that the HPC approve the proposal as submitted; no historic materials will be <br />removed; the fencing would surround the rear yard along the alley side of the property and would be <br />neither out of scale nor unsightly. <br />
