commissioners should read up on the heat and energy advantages of the new
glass on the market.
•The mayor says he wants to preserve the "inner city neighborhoods."
The conservationists want us to save energy. You have prevented both of these
and are therefore working in direct conflict with local, state, & federal
governments as well as environmentalists around the world.
I also would like to add that I grew up two miles west of Valley Forge, Pa.
and I distinctly remember that there was less fuss about remodelling George
Washington's Headquarters in the park, built in the 18th Century, than there is
about replacing windows in this house which has as we all know, ABSOLUTELY
NO HISTORIC VALUE WHATSOEVER. I also know a family whose home was deed to
them by William Penn who had less trouble!
I have long been a proponent of HPC but have completely changed my
opinion on this matter. I will certainly never apply again for a certificate of
appropriateness again nor will I encourage anyone else to do so. Since the
commission has no enforcement ability I will do what most other people in the
area do- my own thing. Your commission is a farce and a waste of time. I have
wasted two months on this now and for this I would at least like my $3.00 back.
I remain angry and fed -up,
Ms. Nancy TenBroeck
•
