• Motion was approved unanimously.
VII. Hearing of Visitors
Three members of the new Riverside Drive Liaison Committee
introduced themselves to the HPC: present were Mary Hendricksen,
Dwight King and Marcia Stevenson.
Mrs. Hendricksen asked about some information on landscaping and
trees in their district. Mr. Oxian suggested that the staff call
Mr. Barncord, a local Landscape Architect, to inquire whether he
would be willing to meet with the neighborhood to discuss
landscaping problems.
Discussion ensued about the issue of trees in the Riverside Drive
historic district between Mrs. Hendricksen and individual _members
of the HPC.
Mrs. Stevenson asked about other issues in their district
including the legal issue at 1071 Riverside Drive. Mr. Oxian
stated that issue is scheduled to go -to court because the
individual was in violation of C of A procedures and Building
Permit procedures and requirements.
Mrs. Stevenson asked about the previous Liaison Committee's
proposal to change district standards and the status of that
• proposal. Mr Oxian related to the members of the Liaison
Committee that the proposal had been sent to the HPC Historic
District Committee and was being reviewed at the present time.
Mr. Oxian also told the Liaison members that when a report was
prepared by the HPC it would be reviewed with the members of the
Liaison Committee and residents of the district at a regularly
scheduled Public Hearing by the HPC.
Mr. Holycross announced that there is a meeting set up on the
following Wednesday (January 27) at 6:00 pm with the staff, the
Liaison Committee, and any commissioners that could attend to
answer questions and concerns in the district.
Mrs. Sporleder thanked the new Liaison members for coming and
encouraged them to continue to be involved in their neighborhood
and with the HPC.
VIII. Announcements/Miscellaneous Matters
Mr. Oxian announced a Common Council meeting Monday (January
25) at 7:00 pm and told Commissioners that Madison School and 514
E. Indiana were up for Local Landmark designation.
IX. Adjournment
5
Mr.
Oxian called
for adjournment.
•
The
meeting was
adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
5
